How to NOT get a Speeding Ticket

Two factors recently converged in what should have been a blessing for everyone needing the NY DVM.

First, New Yorkers are busy people. Between commuting, work, commuting, school, commuting, church, commuting, and the various other needs that demand to be met every day, any time New Yorkers can save is precious.

Second, the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles seems to be eternally overloaded (as anyone who has stood in line endlessly knows all too well). Any way the NYS DMV can streamline their services to handle more customers at once, or to have the customers handle themselves, the easier the job is for them.

The internet was the magic bullet both sides longed for. Since the dawn of the internet age, The New York Department of Motor Vehicles has been increasingly putting more and more automated services online so that New Yorkers can handle their tasks in minutes working online rather than in hours standing in line.

This sounds like a wonderful solution, right? Unfortunately, it's not quite as efficient as you might think. Tragically, not enough people know about the New York DMV's online services, and continue to show up in person and stand in long lines.

Do yourself a favor, take care of your DMV business online since so many things can be handled via the Internet.
